Selenium & Iodine are typically lacking in our New Zealand soils and are needed for healthy immune and thyroid function.
 
Vitamin K2 (Menaquinone) is hard to get from vegan sources unless you’re a big fan of natto! We’ve included Vitamin K2 in Vegan Essentials as it complements Vitamin D3 and Calcium, supporting bone health and density and is sourced via vegan microbial fermentation.
 
Vitamin D3 (ours is sourced from algae), otherwise known as the sunshine vitamin, supports strong bones plus lends a hand with the body’s calcium absorption.
 
Calcium is important for building strong bones and teeth. Since it can be harder to get enough from a vegan diet, we’ve made sure to add a top up just in case!
 
Zinc is essential for immune function, wound healing, as well as your sense of smell and taste. While plentiful in plant-based foods, it is harder to absorb so if you follow a largely plant-based or vegan-diet, make sure you’re aware of your zinc intake.
 
Non-heme iron is plentiful in plant sources but, like zinc, can be harder to absorb. Iron is essential for red blood cell production, so we’ve included vegan-friendly iron to supplement your daily intake.
 
Vitamin B12 isn’t naturally present in any vegan foods so it’s especially important to source a good, fortified alternative or supplement your diet. Vitamin B12 is important for energy production and red blood cell formation. Our vegan Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) is produced by microbes so you can be sure you’re getting all you need.
 
Omega 3 fatty acids are usually plentiful in fish. To support your healthy brain function, we’ve sourced Omega 3 (DHA) from algae to help you get a daily top-up.
